Paula Patton was born in Los Angeles, California to a middle class family. She grew up with big dreams. Her greatest roles are the action spy film Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol and the thriller Precious. The majority of her childhood was spent in Los Angeles where she came from a family of middle-class. Her mother loved films, and she instilled an interest in films in the young girl. Paula was involved in a variety of activities at school that were co-curricular however she showed an interest in drama. Paula loved acting with friends, and she participated in school productions. She performed in numerous high school plays at Hamilton Magnet Arts High School and decided to take up acting as a profession. She was a student at the University of Southern California for the Summer Program, and she loved the experience. The program offered her a three-month contract to create documentaries for PBS. The first assignment was to be an assistant to production for TV documentaries after successfully completing her assignment. After that, she began producing documentaries. Even though she loved the work, she wanted to become an actor. She started her career in acting with a role as Will Smith's co-star in romance comedy Hitch. Since then, she has been in a variety of films and television shows.
