Susan Sarandon Bio

It was after the 1968 Democratic convention, and there was a casting notice for a film featuring a range of roles for young individuals who disrupted the convention. Joe (1970) was auditioned in New York by two recent Catholic University graduates. Chris Sarandon, an actor who had trained for the role, was ostracized. His wife Susan was offered a role in the film as Susan Compton. Susan is the daughter of Bill Compton (Dennis Patrick). In the movie Dad Bill kills Susan's drug dealer boyfriend and next befriends Joe (Peter Boyle)-- an obnoxious worker as an assembly line worker and who collects guns.Five years later, Sarandon made the film that fans of the cult classics are familiar with her character Janet who is involved with transvestite Dr. Frank n Furter in The The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). After more than 15 years, Sarandon finally actively campaigned for Annie in Bull Durham (1988), flying herself from Rome to Los Angeles at her expense.
